The vast majority of the cars entered were large saloon cars that were lowered, widened, lightened and equipped with a powerful engine. So it was quite a surprise when in 1987 Citroën Sport unveiled the AX Superproduction! With a very large kit, a polyester body, a right-hand steering wheel and a 480hp engine, the AX had everything it needed to attract attention. Only four models were built and one of them was driven by former Formula 1 driver Jean-Pierre Jarier. Unfortunately, the results were not there and the AX was quickly abandoned.""
